Taco Bell has partnered again with the Portland-born Salt & Straw ice cream brand to develop a new version of the chain’s dessert taco, this time for Taco Bell restaurants and its new Live Más Café concepts.
The collaboration created two limited time products, the Salt & Straw Churro Ice Cream Taco and the Salt & Straw Choco-Waffle Chiller drink, and marks the first collab for Live Más Café as well.
The two companies have worked previously on a chocolate taco called the Tacolate, served at Salt & Straw locations since last year. Taco Bell, Orange County’s largest restaurant chain, said it sold out during launch weekend, and the demand led to this latest project.
Taco Bell is also incorporating the Salt & Straw taco into its Tuesday Drop promotion for rewards members, which the Irvine-based company recently utilized to lure back diners following the cyclospora outbreak in July.
