A man dubbed “The Butt Sniffer,” who was previously arrested on suspicion of inappropriate behavior at Southern California businesses, has been arrested again after reports of similar activity at two Glendale stores.
Calese Crowder, 39, was arrested Friday afternoon after two stores in Glendale reported a man acting suspiciously and bending down around people, Glendale police told NBC4 Investigates. Police reviewed security camera video from both locations and Crowder was identified as the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing and the case will be submitted to prosecutors for possible criminal charges.
In July 2025, Crowder was arrested at the Burbank Nordstrom Rack after reports of someone roaming the women’s department and sexually harassing a female customer, according to the Burbank Police Department.
The next month, he was arrested again after allegedly sniffing a woman’s behind inside a Walgreens store in Burbank.
Crowder has a history of similar offenses in Glendale and Burbank dating back to 2021, according to police.
Crowder was arrested Nov. 24 after failing to meet an annual sex-offender registration requirement for more than two months, Glendale police told NBC4 Investigates. The Glendale Police Department Assaults Unit arrested Crowder at his residence.
Crowder was on parole at the time for a burglary.
In December, he was sentenced to 99 days in jail for a parole violation. Crowder was back before a judge in April for parole violations and was sentenced to 105 days in jail.
