Firm’s simulation platform to generate “challenging driving situations” for testing
Irvine-based Ri has acquired Third Dimension AI Inc., a firm that specializes in AI-powered 3D spatial generation, to help scale the automaker’s driver assistance and self-driving systems
Third Dimension AI was founded by Tolga Kart and Piotr Sokolski in 2024. The pair developed a simulation platform, now in-house at the EV maker, that uses real-world data to recreate controllable 3D environments such as complex driving scenarios.
“This allows us to recreate challenging driving situations, vary the conditions, and improve how our systems respond,” Ritement. “Their technology and expertise will strengthen and accelerate autonomy across our consumer and robotaxi roadmaps.”
Financial details were not disclosed.
