For more than five decades, DRAIPL has developed and executed complex EPC projects across transportation, renewable energy, power and urban infrastructure. Its Technology Business is intended to extend that project-development and execution capability into enterprise digital transformation, systems integration, smart infrastructure, mission-critical facilities and data centres.
Sharma’s mandate will centre on building and scaling this technology business while bringing together DRAIPL’s engineering execution capabilities with digital expertise. The immediate focus will be on establishing the business around large-scale technology infrastructure and systems-integration opportunities; over time, the company aims to deepen its capabilities across smart and mission-critical infrastructure and data-centre projects.
The challenge is not simply to add a technology vertical, but to translate DRAIPL’s existing strengths in project execution, precision and lifecycle management into a market where technology systems must be resilient, scalable and capable of supporting increasingly digital operations. That will require the business to combine engineering discipline with technology integration rather than operate as a conventional IT-services unit.
Sharma brings nearly two decades of experience across enterprise technology, smart cities, public safety, government transformation and large-scale systems integration. He has previously held leadership roles at Tech Mahindra, NetApp, Hexagon, NICE Systems and Intergraph, giving him experience across both enterprise and public-sector technology environments.

For Sharma, execution will be central to the strategy. The Technology Business will need to demonstrate that digital infrastructure can be delivered with the same emphasis on reliability, project discipline and long-term performance that underpins large physical-infrastructure projects.

The Technology Business is part of a broader strategic vision led by Hardik Agrawal, Director, DRAIPL, to extend the company’s capabilities beyond physical infrastructure. By combining its engineering heritage with technology delivery, DRAIPL is seeking to participate in projects where physical infrastructure and digital systems increasingly converge.
The appointment therefore represents more than a leadership change. It signals DRAIPL’s effort to build a new growth engine around the digital infrastructure required by enterprises, governments and cities, while retaining the execution-led approach on which its core infrastructure business has been built.
