FC Bayern Munich and Harry Kane: This has been an absolute dream marriage so far! And to ensure that this lasts a little longer, both parties are working on extending the contract of the English world-class striker. An agreement between the 33-year-old top scorer and the record champions during the XXL international break is in the air.
Another milestone has occurred Harry Kane secured before the Bundesliga’s extended break: In FC Bayern’s 7-0 win against 1. FC Union Berlin, the English world-class striker cracked the 100-goal mark in the top German league – no player reached this number of goals in the Bundesliga faster than the record champions’ top scorer, who only needed 98 appearances.
Now the next milestone in his career could soon follow in Munich: the 33-year-old’s desired contract extension with FC Bayern is getting closer and closer. “We are in good discussions,” said CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen before the obligatory visit to the Oktoberfest on Sunday and gave hope for a quick agreement during the international break: “Harry will now take the time, the three weeks – and then it should slowly come to an end.”

Kane and FC Bayern: an absolute dream marriage
Kane, who moved from Tottenham Hotspur to FC Bayern in the summer of 2023, is under contract in Munich until the summer of 2027. So far, the relationship between the captain of the English national team and the German record champions has been an absolute dream marriage: 101 goals in 98 Bundesliga games speak for itself, as does the election as Germany’s Footballer of the Year in 2026 and the successes in the “Golden Shoe” in 2024 and 2026. In the last two seasons, the 33-year-old became German champion with FC Bayern, and also won the DFB Cup for the first time last May.
President Herbert Hainer is also convinced that there is still a spark between Kane and the Munich team: “I am very positive. When you talk to him, you notice how comfortable he feels, how comfortable his family feels here. He can win titles here. If you look at what he has won in the last two or three years – he has never had that before. So he knows very well what he has at FC Bayern. And of course we know what we have in him. We want to continue with him extend, and I also think that’s how it will come about,” emphasized the former Adidas boss to the “Bild” newspaper.

Contract extension? Kane also positive!
For Kane, who is currently preparing for the upcoming Nations League games with the “Three Lions”, the signs are clearly pointing to a contract extension with FC Bayern. “It’s looking pretty good,” said the Englishman after the 5-1 win against VfB Stuttgart in the opening game of the current Bundesliga season, confirming a first meeting with those responsible and adding a short timeline: “Such matters don’t get resolved in a week or two. There will be many more discussions about details. The discussions are positive – so far, so good. We’ll keep talking in the next few weeks and then we’ll see what happens.”
Now things could happen pretty quickly – the 33-year-old could already appear in FC Bayern’s next Bundesliga game at FC Augsburg (October 10th, 3:30 p.m.) with a contract extension in his luggage. This should really please everyone involved on Säbener Straße. Only the opposing defenses are certainly not full of anticipation for further years of Bayern’s world-class striker in the Bundesliga.
